Sefton Council is committed to delivering a 1st class enforcement service. An important part of this process is working closely with Jacobs Bailiffs.

Sefton Council have been looking at ways of improving the way we work with Jacobs Bailiffs. In particular, we wish to improve communication with our customers as well as modernise business processes. In response to this, Dave Cornes offered to host an event at Jacobs HQ, for Sefton Council's Council Tax Recovery Team. The whole team were keen to attend this event. During the course of the morning we received a comprehensive walk-through of the Jacobs operation. The team were able to see at first hand how the one step system progresses Sefton cases and how this system together with the best practise of Jacobs Bailiffs, can maximise collection opportunities. We were also able to see a presentation of the magic pens and the communication methods to front line bailiffs. The team then undertook a tour of the call centre and the bailiff admin teams and we were able to put faces to voices. We then received training from Dave Cornes on Bailiff Law and procedure.

The event went really well and has been a great opportunity to build on our excellent working relations and the expert (and free) training will very helpful to the team when faced with customer enquiries. I see a mutual benefit to both parties from this event.
