Jacobs Receive Awards at the IRRV Performance Awards - In Two Categories

   - Posted: 26/09/2011

Jacobs are extremely delighted to announce that we have won two professional Industry Awards, at the prestigious IRRV Performance Awards evening held last week at the Annual National Conference.

Each year the IRRV (Institute of Revenues, Rating & Valuation) hold a national Performance Award scheme that recognises models of excellence.  The awards are open to all Local Authorities and private organisations working within the profession of Revenues, Rating and Valuation, both in the UK and abroad.

The awards attract a very high number of submissions, with this year reporting an unprecedented number of submissions.

 Jacobs Received:

Silver Award - Excellence in Education, Training & Development

Bronze Award - Excellence in Innovation

The Process

Having contributed to client's submission in previous years, and being involved in IRRV and various conferences as Speakers on the profession, we thought that we would have strong submissions in the two categories.

There are many examples in our organisation of excellence in the way that we deliver our services to our clients, and go that extra mile in all that we do.

We made two written submissions based on:

  • Our Internal Training of all staff and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Our Training for Clients & Citizens Advice / Welfare Advisors
  • Our Innovative process - Technology and Added Value Services

The Inspection

Members of the Awards panel undertook two in-depth and very comprehensive site inspections for each category. The Inspections allowed us to demonstrate our key strengths and achievements in each category, alongside verification of our submission with evidence.

The Awards Ceremony

The awards were hosted by Olympic & Commonwealth Medallist Colin Jackson CBE, and this year, as it was an Olympic theme, there were 3 categories of award, Gold, Silver & Bronze.

Jacobs are extremely delighted to be the only Bailiff & Debt Recovery organisation to receive an award.......and in two categories

Simon Jacobs, Partner of Jacobs, said ‘we are extremely delighted to receive awards in two categories. Entries each year are of very high standard and this year, the IRRV reported a very large number of submissions.  It is therefore a great achievement and the team are very proud.  We have worked very hard to make year on year improvements and offer new comprehensive innovative initiatives to create added performance, quality and efficiency for our clients.  We have made significant investment and commitment in the training and development of our staff, our clients, and our community partners such as Citizens Advice. We believe in true partnership working and it is very pleasing to receive recognition and be awarded for excellence".

Commenting on the awards, Chief Executive of IRRV, David Magor, Said "It was felt Jacobs Certificated Bailiffs had adopted a strategic approach to training with support given to staff at all levels. The training programmes were varied and addressed the specific needs of staff as well as clients who use their services.  In both categories the Inspection Teams had been impressed by the credibility the submissions from the company had brought to the bailiff profession. Jacobs had demonstrated the importance of working in partnership with local authorities together with agencies who assist those that experiencing difficulty in paying their debts".

Alyn Lewis, Business Partnerships Manager, for Jacobs, further commented "At Jacobs we have worked hard to raise the standards within the enforcement profession and change perceptions. To be recognised and awarded for excellence in Training & Development of our staff and our partners, and further recognised for our Innovative use of technology to create greater transparency and efficiency, compliments our passion to deliver modern quality services. The profession welcomes further regulation that the Tribunal Courts & Enforcement Act will bring and we believe that we are fit for purpose and ready for future change and challenges".

Jacobs Introduce DX Transfer - Secure & Guaranteed Next Day Delivery of Post

   - Posted: 19/08/2011

In September 2011 Jacobs will be moving to the method of exchanging bulk post via the DX Exchange system.

This will prove minimal impact for clients who receive and return all data electronically.

DX has many advantages, but key advantages include speed and security.  Further information regarding the scheme can be found on the link below -

http://www.thedx.co.uk/ourservices/exchange/document-exchange/

We have recently written to all clients informing them of the scheme and requesting details of relevant DX Number and Exchange Location for our usage.

We intend to effectively replace the Royal Mail process by the DX method so we are not going to send anything by DX that we wouldn't normally issue to you by post.

We will also become a DX Exchange Host and therefore will let you know our details when known so that you can issue mail to us more securely.

If you have any questions, queries or would like to supply information as to your DX details, please email Paul Kelly, pk@jacobsbailiffs.co.uk,  alternatively please telephone 0151 650 4949
